Ala-Maunus is one of the five candidates for the Ars Fennica Nordic contemporary art award. Other candidates are Miriam Bäckström (Sweden), Ragnar Kjartansson (Iceland), Aurora Reinhard (Finland) and Egill Sæbjörnsson (Iceland). The winner will be announced in September 2019.
