In Liisa Pesonen’s creative process, a painting can have its starting point in a brush stroke or a smudge, as well as in an image or a well thought composition. Everything else is built from that premise. The name of the pieces, Nature Morte and Composition, are references to still life painting. Pesonen’s style could thus be described as still life painting of objects that can be both abstract and representational. The artist is always In Between the elements of representational and abstract, as well as line and form.
