Makasiini Contemporary was thrilled to return to ART SG 2025 in Singapore, marking our third consecutive year at one of Asia's premier art fairs. This year, we proudly presented a curated selection of artists from Finland, USA, Spain, Japan, and Israel, showing dynamic works across painting and sculpture.
At the forefront of our booth was Nir Hod, whose chrome paintings, crafted through a meticulous process involving ammonia, acids, and air pressure, produce reflective surfaces that oscillate between abstraction and figuration, taking the viewer’s own image onto the artwork and making them part of the piece itself. Jacob Hashimoto’s mesmerizing kite installations seamlessly blend Japanese craftsmanship with modern abstraction, offering a uniquely intricate visual experience. Jorge Galindo’s expressive paintings fluidly move between gestural abstraction and figuration, integrating collage elements to create layered, dynamic works that explore the tension between spontaneity and structure. Yuichiro Sato’s amazingly detailed pencil drawings capture the beauty of Finnish landscapes, blending observed nature with imagination to create works that contain countless details. Cindy Phenix seamlessly blends abstraction and figuration across multiple mediums, deconstructing societal hierarchies and power structures in visually rich, narrative-driven works. Completing our presentation, Jiri Geller’s thought-provoking sculptures playfully reflect on contemporary life, drawing inspiration from the pop culture.
